Stroke survivors
recognise the
importance of physical
activity to aid and
maintain their
recovery. Discussions
with our members
and ‘taster sessions’ have indicated
that they are keen
to
participate in the activities
described.
The physical and social activity programmes
will make a
positive
difference to our local stroke
survivor community
both
physically and
psychologically.
Research has
demonstrated
that
physical and social
activity translate
into a reduced
risk of
mortality from
stroke.
